5/10 16th Annual Angels Camp Triathlon: New Melones Reservoir. 1,000-yard swim; a 16 mi. bike (rolling, scenic loop course); and a 4 mi. run (rolling jeep trail). Pre-reg.: $55 advance and $65, day-of; individuals; relay teams: $155; $190, day of. Fee includes refreshments, t-shirt, awards, raffle ticket, awards, and post-race barbecue lunch, which also includes beer. (Barbecue lunch for non-entrants is $10.) Swim caps for the swim and bike helmet req'd. The top three finishers in ten-year increments will receive engraved medals. 5/10 City of Gold Triathlon: Bidwell Canyon Recreation Area, Oroville. .5 mi. swim in Lake Oroville; 12 mi. bike ride up Kelly Ridge; 5 km. run on Dan Beebee Trail overlooking the lake. Pre-reg: Individuals, $60; relay teams: $75. Fee includes a technical tee, finishers mendal, post-ride meal, raffle. One-day USAAT license $10 extra. 5/10 Big Rock Olympic Distance Tri: Lake Perris. Swim 1500 meters, Bike 24.9 mi., Run 6.2 mi.. The course will Be flat and fast with a calm lake swim, 2 short climbs on the bike and a flat out and back run. The Big Rock Triathlon is staged in an area that is only a short drive from Los Angeles, Orange County and San Diego. It is also close to the Ontario Airport for those athletes traveling from Northern California or other states and countries.Reg.: Individuals-$85 by 1/1, $95 by 3/1, $110 by 5/8; relay teams-$135 by 1/1, $150 by 5/8.
