Northern California and Nevada


8/3 39th Annual Angel Island Half Marathon: & 10K. Angel Island State Park, SF Bay. Follow a hilly loop trail around the Island. Savor the panoramic vistas of the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco, Alcatraz Island, the East Bay and Marin County. The 10K is a single loop.

8/3 Summer Breeze Half Marathon: San Leandro Marina Park.10K, 5K. An out-and-back along the shoreline into the Hayward Reg'l Shoreline. Begin and finish on 80-100 yards of grassy field. The 5K is otherwise entirely paved. the 10K has 1/2 mi. of packed dirt trails. The half marathon is approximately 50% paved and 50% packed dirt.

8/3 Santa Cruz Trail Run: Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park, Felton. 30K, 13.1 mi., 10K singletrack trail runs. singletrack that opens up to expansive roads and paths–and even sand–participants will enjoy the ocean breezes pouring in from the coast.

8/4 Carmel Valley Fiesta Mountain Run: Garland Ranch Regional Park, Monterey County. 7.7 mi., 2.3 mi. trail run. Not for the faint-of-heart: terrain is often rugged, steep, windy, rocky, dusty, narrow, challenging and potentially hazardous and dangerous. Poison oak, ticks, yellow jackets, and rattlesnakes are present and may be encountered along the route.

8/4 Miguel Reyes Elite/Fun 5K: Fresno. Race in memory of a great person, runner Miguel Reyes, who passed away in 2015. Tacos for all participants!!! Zumba & Mexican Folkloric performances, ICE CREAM!! Raffles!

8/10 Strawberry Ultra Trail Challenge: Kyburz. 100 mi., 50 mi., 50K along trails that are all high-country goodness. Get ready for some serious Sierra running with plenty of awe-inspiring backcountry views.

8/11 Humboldt Bay Marathon: Half marathon, 5K & Marina mile race. 1st 23 mi. flat, close to sea level; at 24 & 25 mi. go across Humboldt Bay. USATF-sanctioned event, Boston qualifier. Aid stations every 2 mi.

8/13 Sunset through the Trees: LEMA Ranch, Redding. 7 p.m. 2.4 mi., 4 mi. distances. Reg. on race day only.

8/24 Almaden Hill Trail Run: Almaden Quicksilver Park, San Jose. .5 mi., 1.5 mi., 5K, 10K, 8 mi., half marathon, marathon. 60% dirt roads, 40% single track, and is very hilly, with great views, awesome countryside.

8/25 Diablo Trail Run: Clayton. 50km, marathon, half marathon, 10 mi., 4 mi., kids runs.


9/10 Sunset through the Trees: Lake Redding Park. 7 p.m. 2 mi., 4.3 mi. distances. Reg. on race day only.

9/14 Echo Summit Trail Run Challenge: Twin Bridges. 50K, marathon, 20 mi., half marathon, 10 mi., 10K, 5K. Sections are technical, very steep, rocky terrain. A rewarding and challenging course with 75% singletrack, 20% dirt road, and 5% pavement. This event held under special use permit with the Eldorado National Forest.

9/21 Trail Hog Half Marathon: Joseph D. Grant Park, San Jose. 10K, 5K. Don’t run? There’s a hike. There are not a lot of steep climbs, but you will encounter rolling, mostly runnable, hills out there! Water stations will be approximately 2-3 miles apart, as trail access allows. Those needing water more frequently are encouraged to carry a water bottle or hydration pack.

8/1 Into the Wild Rockin’ Summer Runs: Irvine Park. 5K. Evening single loop courses designed for beginning trail runner or advanced street racer. Post-race relax with family and friends & listen to live music.

8/6 Sunset through the Trees: Clover Creek Preserve, Redding. 7 p.m. 2.4 mi., 4 mi. distances. Reg. on race day only.

8/7 Nite Moves Summer Series: Leadbetter Beach, Santa Barbara. 5K, Kid’s run.

8/10 Run Through the Pines: Crestline. 5K, 10K. enjoy a semi-paved roadway around Lake Gregory which passes scenic mountain & lake views. The run is at a 4,720 ft. elevation.

8/11 Camarillo Marathon: 5K, 10K, half marathon, full marathon. After the race, enjoy a plate of freshly made street tacos at the post-race party and expo! Run along the Camarillo bike path (no auto traffic). Paved roads & flat as a pancake. Very spectator friendly. USATF certified; Boston qualifier.

8/14 Nite Moves Summer Series: Leadbetter Beach, Santa Barbara. 5K, Kid’s run.

8/17 Mountain Gallop: Tehachapi. 5K, 10K. Held in conjunction with the Mountain Festival festivities include a parade, vendors, food, carnival and rodeo.

8/18 McConnell's Ice Cream Endurance Events: Goleta Beach County Park. Duathlon, 5K, 10K, 1 mi., Kid’s run. Run out-and-back on a flat bike path in the 5K and 10K.

8/21 Nite Moves Summer Series: Leadbetter Beach, Santa Barbara. 5K, Kid’s run.

8/28 Nite Moves Summer Series: Leadbetter Beach, Santa Barbara. 5K, Kid’s run.


9/2 Rock Labor Day: Long Beach. Marathon, Half, 5K, 10K, 15K. run along the scenic city streets around a lake and a beautiful oceanfront view. Fully stocked aid station at the start area, with Gatorade, water, bananas, chips, cookies, and more. Beautiful 5 medal to all finishers.

9/2 Conquer the Bridge: San Pedro. 5.3 mi. run over the Vincent Thomas Bridge on Labor Day. The coolest 5.3 mi. you’ve ever run!

9/8 The Aloha Run - San Diego: Tecolote Shores Park. 5K, 10K. Be inspired by music from the islands and beach tunes as you run or walk the flat and scenic bayside course.

9/8 Book It! 5K Run/Walk: Costa Mesa. Ethan & Chocos Book Club (ECBC) was founded by Leukemia warrior Ethan after he noticed that books and reading were missing from the hospital experience of patients at CHOC Childrens Hospital in Orange County. ECBC is working on building a library and reading program at CHOC.

9/14 2nd Annual Perros Bravos 10K: Bonita. A challenging trail race with a steep zig zag hill to the Sweet Water Reservoir Water tower at about mile 2, then countinues downhill with beautiful views around the campground.

9/21 We Run the Promennade: Westlake. 5K. A portion of the proceeds to benefit Paw Works pet adoption! Bring your pup to run with you! After the run, enjoy music, treats, a pet adoption and fun!

9/22 Bare Booty 5K Fun Run: DeAnza Springs Resort, Jacumba Hot Springs. Run Nude, like the Original Olympians! Reg. opens Memorial Day weekend, closes Sunday, Sept 15. No race day reg.

9/29 Best Friend 5K Run: Griffith Park, Los Angeles. 5K. ADOPT, don't shop: Join hundreds of dog adorers and rescued canines for the 2019 Best Friend 5K Run and Dog Adoption Day!



8/1 Pool 2 Path: Ashland. 500 yd. swim at Daniel Meyer Pool & 5K run along the bike path. The series finale. These events are meant to be fun and nonintimidating.

8/10 Crater Lake Rim Runs: Crater Lake Nat’l Park. 6.7, 13.0 mi. and The Marathon, or for walkers, the 6.7 mi. walk. All courses are along the very rim of Majestic Crater Lake and are at altitudes ranging from 5,980 to 7,850 ft. above sea level.

8/10 Haulin’ Aspen: Wanoga Sno-Park, Bend. Full & half marathons, 6.5 mi. half as. Central Oregon’s only full trail marathon — featuring trails that showcase scenic forestland and beautiful views. The race is also a points qualifier in the Trail Runner Magazine Trophy Series.


9/1-2 MMR Trail Fest: Klamath. 9/1: Film festival; 9/2: 30K, half marathon, 5K runs. Run on high-quality singletrack w/views of Upper Klamath Lake & Mt. Shasta. The half has 1,600 ft. climbing.

9/8 Beat Beethoven’s 5th 5K: Run run/walk. Besides having fun and supporting the Central Oregon Symphony, the goal of the race is to finish before Beethovens famous 5th Symphony finishes approximately 33 minutes.
